There has been a lot of talk about guest blogging being dead.
That’s just talking the attention off the real issue at hand.
The community is really talking about combating spam.
Guest blogging can be useful, but if you do it wrong, you’ll get penalized.
For example, if your intention is to submit thin content just to get links, then your website stands the chance of being penalized.
To avoid being penalized, follow these simple steps.
1) Be clear about what you wish to write about, but don’t start your writing yet.
2) Search the Internet for relevant blog posts. Do you have something unique to publish that’s not widely available?
3) Write a 100% original and unique blog post. To improve on the quality of the post, include some graphics with your guest post.
At the end of the day, remember that SEO is less about building links, and more about creating good content for users.
Ideally, the content that you produce should be so good that people will want to share it.
Focus on producing top quality content, move away from spam, and then let the search engines worry about how to reward you with higher rankings.
